My lathe uses a similar filter to the 7791. In fact I’ll probably use it the next time I have to change it since the 7791 is a 16 micron.

The drain plug you removed is connected to a tap on the engine oil pan (sump) by a hose. I expect this tap is not fully open and this is why the oil flow is so slow at the drain plug on the belly guard.

I used to drive an A20 at a landfill back in the late 90's early 00's... Shocks in the seat were shot, and someone had used a bunch of rubber tie straps from the seat back to the handle on the escape hatch to hold it up. Get going a little too fast in the thing and you were in for a /wild/ ride. And I still remember the first time I ever tried to back the thing up. Yeah, I was a pretty good ways more than 45° off where I wanted to go. And the guy that was showing me how to run it was cracking up big time. XD Even had the pleasure of taking it about 10 miles down the highway once. Let me tell you, 30mph in one of those things even on smooth pavement is /no/ joke. Would not recommend. What sucked, was I was gone for a couple years in the middle... When I'd left everything worked, there was a little bit of slop as expected for it's age, but was overall in pretty darn good shape. When I came back, the place had been under new management for a while and apparently nobody ever kept up with maintenance, and it was wallered out /hard/. No brakes, lost a couple gallons of oil a day, lights busted off, glass cracked, super extra sloppy everything to the point I'm sure it'd never been greased once, cab full of mud, electrical system fubar, etc... Volvo tech never could get the main brakes past the point of dumping half the air in one brake press to barely slow it down a bit, so I screwed around enough with it to get the parking brake on the driveshaft working again, which was a trip to try to feather to slow down, and had a snap-in handle that tended to pop out at the /worst/ times. The other equipment had fared about the same or worse, and some were just so dangerous to operate that we'd use anything else possible before resorting to them only if absolutely necessary. The less said about the scraper's quarter mile or so high speed trip down the side of the hill, across a ~20'x6' ditch, and across the neighboring field, the better. I'm so glad I noped out of there when I did.

The company I was working for tried using napa filters on there cat 330d , I went to start it one cool fall morning and as I was walking away I looked back and oil was pouring out the compartment where the filters were. Come to find out the holes where smaller than the cat filters and couldn't take the pressure of the cold oil and blew the o-rings out of the top of the filters, no more napa filters for the chitty only cat

Hot oil and filling cap off usually does the trick, or even pour some diesel in the engine and turn it over a little to make the oil thinner. That also has the benefit of clean out old gunk.

Not sure if you know this, but if you use el cheapo black PVC tape on something, you can make it impervious to most everything by whapping the tape over itself one or two times and then coat the tape thoroughly with PVC glue. The glue will melt the tape and make everything waterproof...Of course yocan spend the big bucks for 3M nasty glue, but about everyone has the cheapo tape around with the glue.

I've been wrenching on things-mechanical, building engines and fixing things for over 50 years. If that engine were mine, I'd have to know why the oil drains so slowly. Is there a screen around the pump pick-up, and the drain plug is within the screen? That would be one explanation. Air-cooled VWs were like this.

I forgot to put the drain plug in my 71 Maverick, one time. It ran out on the garage floor. I would think about writing oil on 1 or 2 5 gal gas cans with a breather plug on it. like writing the date and hours on the filters.

Crack your oil filter to release pressure/ vacuum on oil system for faster draining. Also, cut the bottom 6" off a drum and weld two rebar handles on sides for high capacity catch pan. 1 for oil and use top part of barrel with bung plug installed for antifreeze drain pan

i remember a fitter, who worked on tractors, told me that he told the apprentice to fill a ford tractor with oil, the apprentice said no problem, a couple of hours later the fitter asked the apprentice if he was finished, they worked in a large workshop, he replied " she's full" the guy went to start the tractor but it spluttered and refused to start, it turned out that the apprentice had literally filled the engine it it was coming out of the rocker cover filler lid he'd put about 20 gallons of oil in the engine 😂
